Community Living Australia — Delivering Flexible Personalised Services

COVID-19 Update - 31/03/2020

The health and wellbeing of clients and our employees continues to be our utmost priority.

Many of the people we support have very specific vulnerabilities. We are attempting to minimise the impact to clients and employees through the decisions we make to safeguard client and employee health and wellbeing.

Feedback from our government regulators has been positive regarding the actions we have and continue to put in place.

We understand that the decisions made can be frustrating and hope there is understanding that the decisions that we make are necessary to keep people safe.

Community Living Australia Services

In keeping with government advice and to continue to safeguard clients and employees the following measures will continue for the foreseeable future:

  • all Day Option services will remain suspended
  • all non-critical In-Home Support, Community Participation, and Recreation Services will remain suspended
  • Respite services will remain suspended
  • offices will be closed (unless prior approval from management is received)

We will endeavour to lift any restrictions as soon as it is safe to do so and as advised by government.

We urge clients/carers to contact their Community Living Australia Team Leader if they believe their essential needs have changed.

Additional Requirements in Accommodation Services

To safeguard people we support in accommodation services we are implementing additional precautionary measures. Effective immediately, external visitors will be limited to two at any time and for a maximum period of one hour. Before entering an accommodation service, any visitor must confirm they:

  • have not travelled overseas in the last 14 days
  • have not arrived from interstate in the last 14 days
  • have not been in any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • are not living with or have come into close contact with someone who is currently self-isolating as directed by a GP or government agency
  • do not have any cold or flu-like symptoms
  • are adhering to government direction regarding social distancing

If visitors are unable to provide this signed confirmation, they will not be allowed to enter the house. We understand this may cause clients and visitors frustration, but again it is to help safeguard everyone involved.
