Mark's Introduction to the 3rd Quarter Newsletter
Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter. I trust you find it informative and an interesting read. There is much to share and many clients continue to inspire and be inspired to reach their goals.
It is with a sense of pride that I read this edition’s updates; the outcomes and achievements of people are worth sharing. In keeping with this, I am delighted that Community Living Australia has launched its Rewards & Recognition Awards program. I urge you to nominate the many worthy individuals that make an impact and inspire us every day.
Moving through 2019, most clients have now transitioned to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). For many, this transition has opened new horizons and opportunities. The Community Living Australia team continues its commitment to support clients adapt to the scheme. Whilst many clients’ experiences have been positive, Community Living Australia has continued to support clients and their families who have been challenged with underfunding or their goals and needs not adequately being addressed.
A significant service that Community Living Australia provides is Supported Independent Living or what was called Accommodation. Community Living Australia supports people across South Australia to live as independently as possible either with housemates or on their own. In response to an increase in demand for this kind of support, we’ve included an update on Supported Independent Living in the newsletter (p16).
Adding to our sense of inspiration and achievement, I am proud to announce that Jo Hill has accepted our invitation to be a Community Living Australia Ambassador. Jo, an outstanding athlete and member of the South Australian community, is a wonderful supporter of Community Living Australia and we are proud to develop our association with Jo.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients, partners and stakeholders for their continued trust in Community Living Australia. We take our responsibility seriously as we continue to evolve and improve, never losing sight of our mission to support people with disability to live fulfilling lives.
Kind regards,
Mark
