There has been some mixed messaging from State Government regarding the use of the COVID Safe Check-in QR codes in supported independent living (SIL) setting. Community Living Australia (CLA) has received updated advice that QR Codes are required to be used in a majority of our SIL services.
QR Code reminder
CLA has implemented two processes - the QR Code system (electronic) and if needed a CLA COVID SAfe register (paper based). The COVID SAfe register is to be used if and when it is difficult for a person to use the QR Code electronic system (for example doesn’t have a smart phone to download the app). Both check-in processes are available at entry points of all CLA venues (office, respite, day options and required SIL services). Each venue has its own unique QR Code.
What is a COVID SAfe Check-In system?
The COVID SAfe Check-In system is managed by the South Australian Government. It is not a CLA business system. It has been implemented to enhance SA Health’s contact tracing and to keep the South Australian community safe. Disability Support services are required to make sure all employees, visitors, contractors, clients and stakeholders support and follow the Government system.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding as we navigate the implications of these changing requirements for our sector.
