Community Living Australia — Delivering Flexible Personalised Services

10 Years of Service to the KI Community

Community Living Australia has been active in the Kangaroo Island (KI) community for a decade.

What started with a simple cooking program — to support people with disability to live more independently — has expanded to provide a variety of services including in-home support, respite for children and adults, and daily programs and activities.

Community Living Australia is committed to supporting people living with disability in the local community to live as independently as possible, be valued members of their community and to achieve their goals. This is accomplished by providing highly specialised and individualised services tailored to the needs of the individual.

Suzi Lines, Community Living Australia’s Regional Coordinator for KI is proud to have been supporting people locally since 2009. A long-term resident, Suzi has grown the breadth of services and our local team to be responsive to community needs.

“We’re a local team that passionately supports our community and strives to provide the best opportunities for our clients to achieve their individual goals.”

An important part of Community Living Australia’s service is to support people in their desire to work or volunteer in the local community. An example is Barb, who lives with disability and, with the local team’s support, regularly volunteers for a local program that delivers meals to the elderly. Through this, Barb gives back to the community and has built a strong connection with those she supports.

Community Living Australia is looking for enthusiastic people passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. Support Workers help people with disability manage their everyday lives and fulfil their individual goals. Benefitting from working in a highly skilled and passionate team, Support Workers enjoy plenty of ongoing training and support to aid them in developing personally and professionally whilst getting fulfilment from doing work that matters.
